Red, White & Blue

A simple card with bright, eye catching colours to cheer someone up who is a bit under the weather, than a nice bright card, and what a great design to use.  A Dustin Pike dragon, i love this dragon he is so charming he would cheer anyone up.  I did this card as an easel card so that the bed would look a bit more true to life.  Coloured using pro-markers and kept nice and simple.

I am going to enter this card into Pikes Challenge.

Tellens Place challenge

My daughters 7th birthday is fast approaching and i saw an image that was perfect for her card and best of all it was free and suitable for a challenge.  I obtained the image from Tellens Place Designs:

I am always looking on thier blog as it has great ideas, items to buy and inspiration.

My daughter loves anything princess and purple, so i printed the image and set to work, i used sentiments that i am fairly sure came from TLC from my digital stash.

I made a card using a basic template and then adapting it to my size and created the following card:

I coloured the girl using promarkers and used glossy accents on her shoes and hair with small clear gems on her shoes but the glossy accents is so shiny you cannot see them! She is attached to the card with sponge pads so she stands out a bit more.

I glued some feathers to the little bird although i was not 100% happy with how this turned out but it was my first time using feathers and glue - what a mess! There were pink feathers all over the place!!!!!

I cut out a 7 by hand and put some glitter on it and layered it up, I hope she likes it!

A picture of the final item, i ended up not liking it too much.  Looking at it now i think that the background that i used for the lady should of been a different colour - possibly blue? Still whats done is done.  I finished her off with some bling in her necklace, glitter on her dress and parasol, glossy accents to her feet, and general small gemstones to the backing paper and border cut edge.

Commisioned card for a wedding anniversary.

I have been asked by a work collegue if i would make a wedding anniversary card using one of the stamps he had seen on one of my previous cards.  I said yes and then found my inspiration totally gone!  Why is it when you are put on the spot your mind goes blank????

I stamped the lady that he had asked for and then scanned her in and enlarged her and made a few copies so that i could layer her up.  I also printed the sentiment and made a small cirle with the wifes name to personalise the sentiment.  I then printed a very floral background as i had been told that she loves flowers.... and that is as far as the card got for about 2 weeks as there was something about it i just was not happy with.  I picked it up again at the weekend very aware that this was hanging over my head and decided to change the backing paper.  What a difference - I managed to quickly russle a basic layout ready for me to put together into a card as soon as i get an evening free (fingers crossed i can finish it off tonight).

I will post some progress pictures and the final image as soon as i have finished the card - fingers crossed the work mate likes it!
