Mothers day cards! (Pic heavy)

This post was initially going to be to show the Mothers Day card that i had made for my Mother in Law, i was also asked if i could make 2 Mothers Day cards for a work colleague, so i decided to make 3 cards using the same image and layout.  As i use paper pads each card was different due to me not having lots of the same paper/card.  I took the commissioned cards into work and felt quite smug that i was so ahead with my Mothers Day card!  A few people saw the cards that i had made and asked if i could make them one too.  EIGHT mothers day cards! I decided to use the same layout as i thought this would be the easiest option.  Unfortunately i did not consider how fed up of making the card i would be in the end.

Netherless, i do like the cards that i made even if they are all pretty much the same!

I used an image from A Day For Daisies and added colours to match the colour theme of the card that i was using for each card.  I used WOC flowers, a flourish and some new butterfly dies (www.papercrafts.co.uk) they were a reasonable £5 for a set of 3 different butterfly styles. Most cards had a box to go with it, but i was asked to make a couple of them without boxes so that the postage was not too high, so for these cards i used flat flowers.

Look hard and you will see them).

The East Wing Challenge - use a digi!

I saw this image and thought it was just so cute! I then realised that it was being offered as a freebie, and if that wasnt good enough, if you use the free image to the use a digi challenge then you can enter twice! Well i am yet to win a challenge and i loved the image so i am giving it a go!

I used my promarkers and coloured the image using inspiration from the design team on the East Wing Challenge.  I loved the fact that everyone on the DT had used the same image and yet the cards were all so different.

I layered the butterfly as i felt it just had to be done such a pretty butterfly it just wanted to fly off the page!  I have made the card for my daughter who is not 10 until July, but i know she will love the picture too.

I used my silhouette to cut the numbers out, inked the edges of one of the layers, and stitched the base layer with my sewing machine. I added a flourish, doylie, some lace from the works and some flowers from WOC.  Some stickles to the butterfly, and a heart that i moulded using air dry clay.  I was tempted to put glossy accents on her eyes but i feel they look fab with out it.
