Happy Birthday Easel card using Meljens monkey toes!

I was asked to make a card for a 1 year old boy and could not resist the digi image 'Monkey toes' from Meljens designs.  I made the card as an easel card.  I always seem to use this for young peoples cards, think i just love the way it stands out a bit more from the standard format for cards.
I coloured up the image using promarkers: Tan; Sandstone; March Hare & Satin.  I used a clear stamp and distress inks, to stamp around the edge of the image.  Buttons and papers from my stash.  There is some ribbon under the image, and i cut the number 1 using my silhouette machine.

Weird looking layout!

My poor pc needs to go for a spring clean, I changed my background today and now it looks really odd on my phone! Grrrr! I will need to look tomorrow night on my kids laptop and check it so sorry if it has a weird background at the mo!

An old favorite digi!

Todays card was inspired by Milszy, i am a new follower to her blog but when i looked through her older posts i saw Chantelle from Make it crafty.  Her shading was so good i decided to print her out and give it a try.  Coloured with promarkers.

Kept the card quite simple as i wanted the eye to be drawn to the image, and only added a couple of layers, some sparkles and pearls.

I am entering this card into the following challenges and giving a 2nd card entry into the DT call at crafting from the heart:

Crafting from the heart DT call

Well i am throwing my crafting skills into the DT hat and entering the below card into the 4th Challenge at Crafting from the heart , the challenge requires buttons/pearls - i only have 4 pearls on this card so fingers crossed i am not given the boot for lack of pearlyness!  This was my first card that i made since the rush of christams cards had taken over and clouded my craft mojo (really have issues with christmas cards - they give me a craft block!!).  It was a work collegue's birthday and although i am very good friends with her i really didnt know what theme to go with for her birthday card.  I love colouring images and couldn't resist printing Rosie - the image that Miran was offering as a free image.  Isnt she just lovely!!!

I used promarkers to colour the image and used coloured and clear embossing powders and a sprinkle of frantage.  I also used some of my purple distress ink (christmas present) around the image and the sentiment.  I just love my distress inks at the moment! Some die cuts, pins (from ebay) and some pre-made flowers.

Thanks for looking!!!
