'Thank you' cards
Well the presents have been opened and its time to think about saying thank-you to everyone for the lovely gifts that my family and i received.
For these thank-you cards i used white card and die cut the shape out of the face of the card, placing the card onto a spare peice of scrap i used a distress ink pad and attempted to distress the card going outwards from the die cut space.
For the inside of the cards i used a stamp which i stamped using brown momento ink. I used brown momento ink to stamp the adorable little mouse from some stamps that i recieved free on a craft magazine that i subscribe to.
I coloured the mouse using pro-markers, and placed him on the card using pads, and finished the card off by glueing 2 small material flowers with silicone glue.

My last christmas card! (I hope!)
I have finally made my very last christmas card, it is going to go to my very best friend Paula. I used my new present that i bought for myself - my distresser! I think it will take me a bit of getting used too, but i gave it a good attempt i feel.
I also used a sketch for the layout which i do not often do, i am quite pleased as to how it worked out. With this card i am entering the following challenges:

Christmas gifts for Neighbours and Work collegues
Well i have had a busy weekend with my girls childminders christmas party on Saturday, and i borrowed my dear friend Paula's Ultimate pro! I spent my Sunday making cards for my neighbours and for the girls that I work with in the office. I decided to take inspiration from the docrafts web site tip for quick cards although they were not very quick in my opinion!
I worked out that I needed to make 5 cards for work and 4 for my neighbours (or was it 5?). I decided to make these from some of the really thick card stock in a deep red (perfect for Christmas cards etc) that I seemed to have an abundance of left over from Christmas crafting. I then needed to do some envelopes but as the card stock that I had used for the cards was so thick, I decided to make the envelopes with approx 5mm depth. You can just see the envoloboxes in the background.

To go with the cards that I made, for my work mates I made some not so seasonal tiffin (crushed rich teas mixed with melted butter, sugar, cocoa powder and golden syrup, topped with a layer of chocolate) the reason this was not so seasonal is that I forgot to add a handful of cranberries! For my neighbours I always feel like making the effort at Christmas time, so for the last 2 years I have trussed my kids in their winter woolies and taken them with me to knock on the neighbours doors to give them a seasonal treat. This year I made some shortbread biscuits and mixed some cranberries in for the seasonal effect (I didn’t forget this time!), and used a star shaped cutter. As I am more experienced in my crafting this year I strayed from the polythene bag and made cartons.
At this point I did not realize quite how long this was going to take me! I have to say by the end of the day my 7 year old daughter was a dab hand at making boxes, and even used a bit of my thick red card to make herself a box for herself! (for her jewelry apparently but it is still on my dining table covered in all of the other cartons she made from my scrap card!).
I made these boxes from pearlised card, once all the cards and envelopes had been done, I cut the Tiffin, bagged it up with the biscuits and put them into boxes finished off with a co-ordinated silver ribbon.
I am going to look for some challenges that I can enter my card into, and go delivering the neighbours parcels tonight. And then i will be tackling the huge pile of ironing that built up while i was completing my gifts!
The days end result:

Husbands christmas card
I am down to my very last few christmas cards now and i am making a mental note that i should make my personal cards for close friends and family members first and not leave them to the end! Sometimes i prefer the cards that i have made in haste when under pressure of a deadline as it prevents me from being indecisive!
I made this card with my husband constantly wandering past me as i sat on my front room carpet surrounded by my usual spread of essential craft products. Luckily for me he never looks at what i am doing when i am crafting!
I used a pro-marker tutorial to shade my Kenny K image skin and hair (i will add the link here later for the tutorial as it is on my laptop favourites - found it:-http://scrapbooksisters.blogspot.com/2011/12/card-challenge-64.html). I was unsure of the initial line of colour and i think i will miss this off in future, plus the ink from my printer smudges when i use my pro-markers on it! Grrrr!!!!!
To my image:
I used glossy accents on her boots and took a picture because i wanted to point out that the colour changed when i added the glossy accents and made the boots more of an orange colour than a red colour.
It also doesn't seem to show up on the picture above but i added some tiny gems to the tim holtz die cut that i used. I was thinking of putting pearls to give the mistletoe look but felt that this may not look quite right as it is not mistletoe dies that i used!

I love Kenny K images, as i love colouring them in! My new years resolution is to complete my collection of pro-marker and learn to use them better. There are so many great tutorials out there!

New Job card
A work collegue left work this week and I made a quick card with a simple design that i have not used before but one that i found looked quite effective.
This photo was taken on my newly laid carpet, before the kids ruin it!
